Nuts and bolts to start
January 26, 2015
Yay this is my first blog post! Firstly I accept that I make no promises to myself or anyone else that these posts will be in any way interesting, informative, accurate, funny, engaging, or related to yoga, massage or creativity - but I will try my best. I surmise that over the coming months, and possibly years, I'll be throwing down a mish mash of ideas, information, tips, and, most of all, inspirations - or what has given me inspiration - in the hope that you too are inspired.
To start with, allow me to introduce one of my greatest sources of inspiration - my hubby! It is through his support, care and example that I am here, doing what I am doing today. For reasons far too great (and personal) for me to go into here, all I can say is he has inspired me to extend myself beyond what I thought was my limits, to find a better way of living my life than before, and to not ever stop reaching for my goals. Five years ago I would never have imagined that I would have fallen in love, married, changed career and started the pursuit of my passions....and yet, here I am! So all I can say is, never say never, and always leave a tiny little space for hope.
...So, how did this all start? Well, in a nutshell, I started digging myself out of a hole a few years ago. I knew I was unhappy in my job. I knew I was unfulfilled, but I just didn't know what to do about it. So I kept eating this unwanted pie, eating and complaining, eating and complaining. Then, one day, it dawned on me - surprise surprise! - no one is going to come along and dig me out of this mess. I can look around for inspiration, but it is me who has to start digging. So that is what I started to do. And, as I worked my way upwards and out of the aforementioned hole, I started to discover the fantastical passions that had been covered in dirt and debris over the years. I guess as I got (get?) closer to the top of the hole, light illuminated all the aspects of myself that I had allowed to dull. So here I am, turning these passions over in my hands, playing with them, holding them up to the light, giving them a shake now and then, and just enjoying the spark they bring my day! There are many things which inspire me, but if I were to name a few of the most consistent I'd say (in no specific order): acting, yoga, wellness, healing, and self expression. I suppose these will be the big themes of this blog...:)
