Meet Ruth Kent

I created Sunrise Well because I care about people waking up and living fulfilling lives. The easiest place to help people is at the place they spend most of their waking hours - work. And, as it turns out, improving the health and wellbeing of the people in a business makes the business more successful too.

I bring the science and research of public health, psychology and health sociology, and the wellbeing practices of mindfulness, wellness coaching, and yoga together to create a holistic view of health in the workplace.

With a lifelong passion for health and well-being and a natural curiosity of people and what makes them tick, I first learned to meditate at the age of 15, at a time when meditation was still unconventional. I was inspired to dive in and learn more about my own mind, as well as get a better understanding of others and what makes them tick.


My qualifications include:
Psychology / Post Graduate Diploma in International Public Health / 500+ hours of yoga teacher training / Level 3 wellness coaching / Master’s in Biomedical Meditation Therapy and Allied Health.

Positive wellbeing and good health are more than just the absence of disease. “Wellness” as a concept moves the focus from the negative state of disease, through the middle state of zero, and into the thriving state of wellbeing. Research now shows that it is possible to foster and enhance a true state of wellness through your own practices, choices, actions, and environment.
